My Story
Hi, I'm Nicole!
I've been running my own handmade business for nearly 20 years, since before my daughter was born. I was born in Hungary, and moved to the UK 21 years ago. When I fell pregnant, I didn't realise maternity leave here was only a few months, compared to three years back home. I was determined to stay home with her, so I started sewing buggy and stroller cushions to sell. By the time I would have needed to go back to work, I was earning enough not to.
As my skills grew, I launched a business turning children's drawings into soft toys. The demand was huge, but I quickly learned the concept wasn't sustainable, every single piece had to be started completely from scratch. So I moved into making dolls, then matching outfits and teepees to go with them. During lockdown, I also started a T-shirt printing business, and that's when I taught myself to crochet and embroider too, sharing it all on a new Instagram page.
Two years ago, one of my reels went viral, and that page grew rapidly. I started paying real attention to the content and look of my page, and began sharing patterns. Things were going so well that I eventually had to make a choice, closing down my earlier businesses, keeping the ones I loved most.
Looking back across everything I've built, my real strength has always been the same: choosing the products that actually sell.
Now all my children are grown up, my son, the youngest, is 17, and I'm finally in a position to fully concentrate on building my business, and most importantly, yours. After years of doing this for myself, I realised I was ready to share everything I've learned with anyone who wants to make a real living from their handmade work.
Thank you so much for supporting me so far, for your interest in my content and my products. I can't explain how much it means to me. Doing what you love is a rare privilege, and I'm grateful to be in that position.
So here we are, this is the first of many things I'll be sharing with you.
